These thin aluminum nuts are needed for clearance on spur gear when coupled with MOD / MIP Everlast Real Brake Systems Caliper Screws part #22364.

These are really only needed on the spur gear side due to the closeness of the spur gear to the diff housing.
Normal sized 7mm nuts will hit the spur gear and cause interference.
